I finally feel like I am at the start of an actual career, as a human rights lawyer no doubt! Which was always a dream of mine – so thank you Fiona once again, I could not have done it without your help with the applications and confidence building as when I first started coaching, I was too scared to even apply for jobs and training contracts.
Zina, LSE Graduate and Trainee Solicitor, London
I remember saying to my manager before I left to meet Fiona that I was afraid it would just turn into a bit of a chat and I would leave feeling like I hadn’t really achieved anything. Despite this, I went with an open mind, and as the session progressed my earlier negative thoughts began to fade and I started to really focus on what I was being asked and what I was saying about myself. I not only left feeling good about myself, but also with a new found respect and understanding for coaching itself.
I found Laura to be a powerfully intuitive coach during our sessions. I would be talking about a problem or a concern and she would often perceptibly pick up what may actually be lying beneath what I was saying and check her finding with me.
There was certainly at least one occasion where I was shocked to find she had helped me uncover what I was actually struggling with, just by nudging me closer and closer using her judgement to ask the right questions.
If you are looking for a gentle and nurturing coach, Laura is a great choice.
I saw the MTG kick-starter events advertised and it sounded perfect for me.
I was unhappy at work and very confused about what direction I wanted to go in. It’s really hard to suddenly be given all the choices in the world after leaving education.
The MTG sessions gave me a bit of guidance and support on how to work out what I value and what really matters to me as well as what environment I would work well in.
I pushed myself by agreeing to be part of the course I’m glad I was there and for all the times I did share. It has reminded that it is ok to accept praise and other peoples opinions sometimes, as they can often add value or make me see something I wouldn’t have seen if I’d have kept my thoughts to myself.
The MTG Signature programme has enabled me to identify what I really value and has given me the confidence to put what I value first.
The sessions were great, Fiona and Laura are really friendly, supportive and dedicated to helping.
It was a really nice community feel with everyone trying to help each other as we were all in the same boat!
I found that because I’d talked openly to people about how I felt and what I wanted to do I was a lot more likely to put my thoughts into action as my thoughts were out in the open rather than just in my head.
Every Tuesday for the last 10 weeks I have really looked forward to the MTG Signature session.
It was refreshing and eye-opening to have time away from the daily grind to think about life’s bigger questions – what matters to you as an individual, how you can try to be happier and to learn new skills and tools that will help you in the work place and personally.
One of the best changes was the ability to change my perspective.
Yes, I might not know exactly what I want to do with the rest of my life and yes, I don’t particularly love where I am right now career wise but thats ok.
I learnt to look at my current career situation with a new positive perspective reminding myself that I can get the most out of where I am now and seeing it as an opportunity to shake things up rather than seeing it as making a ‘mistake’.
There is a lot more to life than work.
The Signature Programme is fantastic – where else can you come together with your peers, find out what matters most and have the support to strive in that direction. Thanks to the coaches I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the 10 weeks and feel like I’ve come a long way, I’m much happier, confident and hopeful for the future.
Reflective and Centering – The Mind The Gap Signature Programme is helping me achieve focus and clarity to get to my goals step by step.
Enlightening common-sense with a side of science.
Mind The Gap really helps me focus on what is important to me and take steps to improve my life.
I feel more able to identify my demons and to come up with achievable steps to confront them. I am more confident than when I started and hope that continues.
Mind The Gap allows you a space to breathe and gather your thoughts.
For me it was a place where dreams are followed, passions are expressed and victories and mistakes are celebrated.
I really enjoyed my session with Laura. I felt able to confront things I had been avoiding and felt resolute and calm.
Laura helped me to gain a new perspective and used visualisations to help me realise what I needed to focus on.
